Pair of large table lamps by French artist and designer Philippe Cheverny from circa 1970. Black laminated wood base, brass framework and golden metal decoration on black Perspex. Sleek black and golden shades have been replaced, but the size is original. The shades can be adjusted in height - there are small screws (seen also on photos) that come with the lamps to adjust the height of the shades. Each lamp with two sockets.
Condition: Replaced shades and base. New electric wiring. Original structure, bathed in brass.
About the maker: Philippe Cheverny is known for his ornamental pieces, sculptural lamps and furniture designed and manufactured throughout the 1960s and 1970s. His works have since become sought after for their unconventional and experimental flair.
