Arne Jacobsen was a Danish architect and furniture designer, renowned for his sense of proportion and contribution to Scandinavian modernism. Jacobsen studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, but his worldwide success came with his simple and effective chair designs. Most of his furniture was manufactured by Fritz Hansen, while his light fixtures were produced with Louis Poulsen. Famous designs include: Ant chair (1951), Series 7 chairs (1955), Drop, Egg and Swan chairs (1956), AJ Visor floor and desk lamps (1957).
